Reality television, dominating the tube right now, is about the real antics of real people in a real environment. They give surprises. Some reality show is nice while some are insulting. The irony of reality show is that, they are unreal key moments may not be scripted. They are unscripted drama, just like sports. The main reason why they produce more reality show is because they are cheaper. Reality shows are everywhere. Although television keeps up with the society however it is more than nosiness. It is a great and new way of telling a story, ideas that grab us in some fundamental place and it is profitable. Reality show will always have a place in television but the prospects are very dim. When people could not get enough westerns, producers are force to add more bells and whistles and gimmicks. In future there will always be competition from others forms of programme.

English summary of Passage B

Current approaches to environmentalism do not work because American carbon emissions continue to grow. Only a few western countries are doing well but have not met the target, soon the world will be flood with carbon dioxide. Till now, we than realize that the failure was almost inevitable. An old paradigm has a meaning of that said the job of environmentalism is to cure the worst effects, and endless economic growth makes that job easier. The cheap fuels that we use everyday, now threaten our civilisation. By burning a gallon of gas, you release five pounds of carbon into the atmosphere Even Benjamin Friedman knows that carbon dioxide is the cause of the environmental contamination. From this, we have to change as dramatically as light bulbs. For instance, when we do not need such a big houses, buy a smaller home where we can use the transport there. The economy is much more important than our desires.

She is a teacher we could forgive but never forget. After the shock that she gave us, my classmates and I just could not believe that such thing would happen. After all, we just could not believe that she did that to us. Miss Wong is our school best Math teacher. She is a very humble, joyful and bubbly teacher. When she is teaching us, there is always laughter, at the same time developing our learning skill. She never fails to make us laugh when we got scolded by some other teachers.

We did not know her true color, when one day we finally know that the teacher we always respect is not what she shows on the surface. It happen when, our class were having Physical Education period. We place our bags at the usual place which is outside the library and we headed off to run around the school. After running, we played netball and badminton when we were having a fun time one of our classmates, Chanel, suddenly wail out loud.

Chanel exclaimed, “I lost my phone and wallet!”

“Who could’ve stolen it!” shouted everyone agitatedly.

Everyone got so paranoid that they rush to check if their belonging were there, luckily beside Chanel, no one else got their belonging stolen.

Chanel is one of our richest classmates, so from this all of us conclude that it must be one of our classmates who did it. Soon after Physical Education, it was Math period. Everyone was very worry for Chanel so no one have the mood to study.

However Miss Wong responded calmly, trying to calm us down, “Everyone stays relax, I’ll find out who’s the culprit, I promise.”

Two days has pass, when suddenly Miss Wong said she found out who is the culprit and it was none other than Gabriel, our class poorest boy. Everyone was in a shock but everyone knows that it could not be him. It was when another teacher told us that Miss Wong was the culprit and she pushes the blame to Gabriel. That was when we know that, the perfect teacher we used to recognize was not that perfect.

Proposal of the new buildings selection

I am Wendy Goh Gui Xiang, the senior student of 4E3. I am here to write to you regarding the new building that would be providing facilities for all students and people in the school. My fellow classmates and I have decided on which building would be the best addition to our school, thus, among the three suggestions, we have come out of a choice and that is the multi-media resource centre.

Though, the other two suggestions were also good. However, my fellow classmates and I felt that the multi-media resource centre is definitely a better choice. The theatre and concert hall could only benefits the drama groups and musicians. The teacher whom choice this because she said that: “This could be used by drama groups and musicians for school, community and combined events.” Hence, the theatre and concert hall can only benefits a number of students because not all of the students are in the drama groups and not all enjoy listening to music.

Beside that, the multi-purpose sports hall, including an indoor swimming pool could also only benefits those students who love to do sports. It is a healthy suggestion but, it will not help much for the students. The teacher chooses this as he said, “This could remain open after school hours and at weekends for use by members of the public.” In addition, the sports hall will be quite filthy as the public will also be using during weekends.

At last, we still came to a point that the multi-media resource centre would benefits the students most. By making use of the computer there, students can get to do their homework, research at there. Teacher said, “This could offer IT training opportunities for young and old, a digital resource library and even a cyber café,” Thus, those students whom do not have computer at home, can always stay back at school to complete their homework.

In conclusion, the multi-media resource centre is definitely a worth well facilities. Hence, I sincerely hope that you would take our suggestions into consideration. I assure you that, it is really a good choice.

Yours sincerely
Wendy

ENGLISH SUMMARY- PACKAGE 3

According to the legend, an Ethiopian goatherd found his flock frolicking about after munching on coffee cherries, thus he decided to introduce it to everyone. From humble beginning, coffee starts to become more popular as uncounted millions of coffee beans down by the potful. However, nearly half of the countries three billion of coffee trees were damaged. The loss of a single tree means the loss of income as it takes a long time for the tree to grow back. Coffee prices have both low and high, this is due to the inconstant production of coffee. Hence, when there is more coffee the price will be low, when there is less coffee the price will increase. Producers and consumers agree that the most relevant solution was to limit output to what the market can absorb and sell at reasonable prices. Till, coffee remains one of the least inflated prepared beverages.
